Description;

An Austro-Hungarian Empire, silver bowl with two handles. This bowl is fully hallmarked for 1867 and the makers marks are for A. Adler. A very nice antique example of an article, with decorative flower petal and embossed fluting.

This article was used for serving chocolates and almond cantucini biscuits at summer social forums, with activities such as lawn tennis, croquet, archery etc. At such gatherings, besides also serving coffee or tea, a lightly alcoholic and sweetened summer drink called a “Champagne Cup” was also imbibed.
