Description;

A set of 3. antique Brocade pattern Imari, dishes ca.1860-1880.

These rather striking dishes, have gilt scalloped rims. A set of three colorful and rather decorative enameled polychrome objects; all have stylized cartouches amid attributes of the eight immortals. The center of the dish is filled with a border of star shaped blue chevrons within blue double circles. The whole of the front side, is decorated with panels which are filled element of fruitful bounty.

All landscape decorations are vividly expressed on the dishes, such as the hanging gourds, equestrian scenes of resting horses, sailing junks, harbors and mountains. The reverse side, is decorated with chrysanthemum heads and leaves, with an inscription.

These three colorful plates would be ideal as a wall decoration, or as a dinner party service for something decorative and special; like a fresh fruit pyramid with nuts.
